Sound Design Projects

I have a love for sound. To me music and sound effects are one of the strongest and most underlooked tools in theatre and film. As well as this I believe that the average audience member is much more likely to react poorly to bad audio compared to issues with other technical aspects of the show. This is partly because those of us fortunate to have no issues with our hearing take it for granted. Having started out in radio – it is unsurprising I believe audio is so important. The power of great audio drama shows just how little work (and money) is required to open up the audience’s imagination.

With all that in mind, I have worked on a sound design task to practise my skills. Many of the individual sounds you hear in these works can be found here – for free (available under Creative Commons 0). While I hope to one day make professional quality affect and soundscapes (an implement them in a wide range of projects) for now my only hope is that they are put to good use!
